Lancaster has taken bold steps to become the premier green energy community in Southern California, with wind turbines, solar power, and the first fully functional electric bus fleet in the nation

On January 24, 2023, Antelope Valley Transit Authority staff informed the AVTA board of directors that the agency’s electric fleet had accomplished another milestone, passing the ten million electric mile mark. The electric fleet transports residents in the Antelope valley around Lancaster and Palmdale along with portions of northern Los Angeles County, such as Pear Blossom, Little Rock, and Lake Los Angeles.
